Fishing Simulator

Guaranteed to catch a fish. Learn and experience the thrills and excitement of catching and landing a fish. You can experience Bass, Salmon, or even a Sailfish. The fishing simulator even grades your angling skills.

Firearms Simulator

These training simulators teach safe firearms handling and practical skills with deactivated laser firearms. You can experience hunting, everything from deer to pheasants, target practice, bulls eye or shotgun and shooting games such as galleries or moving bulls eyes. The student learns about wildlife anatomy, marksmanship, range safety and many other shooting techniques. The shooting systems have basic to advanced levels and will even score your shots.

Archery

This activity uses real archery equipment in an enclosed / safe 30ft range. You can use either recurve or compound bows or either balloons or video simulated big game animals. This activity teaches archery skills, safety and more.

Canadian Firearms Safety Course

Recent legislation introduced certain requirements for users and owners of firearms. AHEIA provides the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and opportunity to Challenge the test for both restricted and Non-restricted firearms, which is a pre-requisite for a valid firearms license in Canada. Come to our booth and take the challenge for either the CFSC Restricted or Non restricted test. There is no fee but donations are acknowledged with a tax-deductible receipt. Depending on your level of expertise this challenge of both the written and practical test can take between 15 minutes and 1 hour. Come see us – we’re happy to help and we’ll even assist with the paperwork!

General Information

If it’s information you need… this is the right place. We have qualified instructors in all areas of Conservation Education manning our booth at all times. We can answer your questions about hunting, fishing, firearms, archery, how to get involved and who to talk to for more information. If we don’t have the answer relative to your outdoor experience… we’ll direct you to someone who does!

Buzzer Boards

At this interactive display the user takes a trip through some of Alberta’s Flora and Fauna. Here the user learns interesting facts and details about Alberta’s natural world, while at the same time being able to touch and feel specimens. This is a great learning opportunity!
